#Soiree Role: Segment Producer – Ambiance
Maggie Phillips is both the harbinger and the epitome of Style. She is possibly the most enigmatic member of the Social Media #Soiree Production Team, and yet, despite all the mystery manages to be among the most engaging.
The Manhattan based model/artist/photographer is considered a social media pioneer and while she didn’t create the idea of blogs, which themselves weren’t in the cultural lexicon yet, she created the visual, audio blog, using scroll, video, music, and photos in the very manner that is today’s standard. Maggie says, “I invented the genre in half a day, with much difficulty downloading, and not much help from anyone because back then, a blog ‘wasn’t supposed to’ scroll, have videos, use full size photos instead of thumbnails, or have music.” She was told to “just write text like everyone else. Maggie created experimental videos as experiments using Quick Time as early as 2001. She was also an early adopter of Twitpic, loving it immediately.
But her greatest social media love was/is her husband @ahess247 who she met face to face for the first time months after the two of them had already fallen insanely in love with each other. She actually met him by chance the very first second she was online, ever. Keep in mind this was in the very earliest days of the internet.
Offline you might find Maggie in the city at the Carlyle or Pastis Or in the Hamptons. Or anywhere else in the world where there is beauty, comfort and glamour.
